A ONE of a kind strength and conditioning workshop to be facilitated by an elite coach from Canada will open today at 9:00 a.m. in Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Grade School Audio-Visual Room.

Marc Dagenais, an elite-level softball, and strength and conditioning coach will spearhead the two-day workshop and seminar which will be attended by more than 40 coaches, sports leaders and leader-athletes from the cities of Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, and Tagum.

Dagenais, in Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at the Annex of SM City Davao, said he is thrilled to share his knowledge on the sports.

"You can never learn too much," Dagenais said, the reason he is keen on transmitting his knowledge to every individual.

Dagenais has been coaching in Canada for over 25 years.

"I have loved coaching more than playing," he said, sharing that he started coaching when he was 13.

Being a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) level four coach, Sports Conditioning Specialist (SCS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS), National Strength and Conditioning Association, Personal Trainer Specialist (PTS), Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals (CanFItPro), and Canadian Red Cross member are just among the array of Dagenais’ credentials.

He has an exceptional combination of softball coaching expertise and sports science knowledge, and has worked with numerous elite, amateur, college and professional athletes including hundreds of softball players.

On June 22 to 24, Dagenais will conduct a three-day softball workshop at the University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep).

The registration is pegged at P3,000 inclusive of food, shirt and handouts.
