THE Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) is throwing their support to Cebu’s young woodpushers who are competing in the 19th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Chess Championships.
Cepca will give out financial support to 20 chess wizards—four from Cebu City and 16 from Cebu Province—for the 19th Asean Championships, which will be held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao City on June 18 to 28.
The 20 players will receive P500 each as an additional allowance for the Cebuano players.
Cepca official Jun Olis said that in previous years they supported two to three players only but the board decided to support 20 players this year. (RSC)
