Pimentel-Aquino tandem rules badminton tourney

JOMARI Pimentel teamed up with Glenn Aquino to rule the doubles competition of the University of the Cordilleras badminton tournament dubbed 'To Give Back'.

Pimentel, fresh from winning the championship in the secondary boys' singles division against partner Aquino, edged the tandem of Adrain Carambas and Dean Bambalan who settled for second place while Irvin Yamashita and Lloyd Julien Mabalot took home the third place plum.

Valen Copes and Minie Bagyan won the championship in the distaff side, edging Ashley Aoas and Jezza Yvette Mendoza who settled for the 1st runner-up honors while Pearl Cabanban and Jazel Anne Perea salvaged 2nd runner-up honors.

In the elementary boys' division, Mark Aquino and partner Htai Andro Kienh Cudao outplayed Christopher Corpuz and Gerald Delmo for the championship while Glen Mabalot and Fenmark Balansag settled for third.

Ma. Franchesca Alfonos and Frenalyn Balansag won the championship in the elementary doubles downing the tandem of Sandara Rose Ragando and Juliane Ragando while Camile Carpio and Jercel Adriano took the second runner-up honors.

Pimentel ruled the singles division in the secondary level against teammate Aquino who settled for first runner-up plum while Irvin Yamashita settled for second runner-up honors.

Minie Dimag Bagyan won the championship in the distaff while Jezza Yvette Mendoza and Jazel Anne Peren settled for first and second runner up honors respectively.

Mark Aquino edged Gerald Delmo for the championship in the elementary boys division while Christopher Corpuz settled for second runner-up.

In the girls' division, Alfonso took the championship while Jeel Casas and Frenalyn Balansag settled for first and second runner-up honors respectively. (Roderick Osis)
