Mabalacat hosts mountain bike race

MABALACAT CITY -- The City Government of Mabalacat in partnership with TeamBikeStop (TBS) held the first off-road mountain bike race in the province.

Dubbed as “Reign To Glory Mountain Bike Jamboree,” it kicked off on June 16 and was flocked by mountain bike enthusiasts.

Mabalacat City Tourism head Arwin Paul Lingat said that Mayor Crisostomo Garbo is serious on charting their direction towards sports tourism. He also added that this is also in part of a commemoration of a historic event in Pampanga.

“This was a part of Mabalacat City’s commemoration of Mt. Pinatubo eruption,” he added.

TBS Race Director Melvin Fausto highlighted that the slopes and terrain of the course were very suitable for mountain bike racing.

“The lahar and river crossing, as well as a short off-road ascend were the unique features of the race course design,” he said.

He also added that the event is envisioned to be the premier off-road biking and multi-sport festival in the country.

Limited to 300 bikers only, the mountain bike festival encouraged enthusiast and advanced bikers to experience the scenic environment of Mabalacat City.

TBS is the official organizer and event partner of Mabalacat City’s Reign to Glory Mountain Bike Jamboree. TBS is a sports management company with the objective of promoting a healthy lifestyle. (PR)
