THE total dengue deaths in Negros Occidental from January to this month have increased to 11 after another fatality was reported in San Enrique.
Louie Fernandez of Negros Occidental Health Surveillance System said that the number of dengue cases has also increased by 47 percent, from 964 in the same period last year to 1,419 this year.
Fernandez also cautioned the parents to always check in the health of the school children because based on their records, the victims of dengue fever are those at the age of one to 10 years old and 11 to 12 years old.
Cadiz City still has the most number of dengue mortality with four followed by La Carlota City, two; Valladolid, two and one each in Bago City and E.B. Magalona.
The Provincial Health Office has been warning the public of high dengue fever this year, based on the trend of the case.
