212 cops in random drug tests negative

NOT a single policeman under the Police Regional Office (PRO) Davao Region who underwent a surprise drug test conducted by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office (RCLO) tested positive for illegal drugs.

PRO-Davao spokesperson Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz in the AFP-PNP Press Corps conference at Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said there were 212 policemen who underwent a drug test the previous weeks.

Since the 212 policemen were negative of the Metabolites and Methamphetamine, a known content of illegal drugs, they will no longer undergo confirmatory test.

The tests were random, Driz said.

"The Philippine National Police (PNP) organization is on its internal cleansing process to get rid of those rogue police, scalawags, kotong cops, and errant policemen," Driz said.

The PNP leadership had tasked every station and office chief to be fully responsible for their personnel and will thus be held accountable for every misdeed.

The order issued last June 13 reminded the police chiefs to crack down on 15/30 personnel or those who only report to collect their salaries, prohibit moonlighting not unless this has written authority, no sleeping on duty or hanging out when on patrol.
