MAYOR Jose Espinosa III is inviting young artists to join the first Iloilo City Inter-District Street Dance Competition organized by City Youth Development Division (CYDD).
“We all know that aside from improving your confidence in connecting to people, dancing is one of best ways to be physically and mentally fit. This is a very special activity for we’ll give chance to children and youth to perform and compete. Let’s all support this program,” Espinosa said.
Registration forms are available at CYDD Office at 5th floor, City Hall and the deadline of submission is on June 29.
The contest will kick off on July 6 at SM City Northpoint.
The elimination round for City Proper district will be on July 14 at Plaza Libertad; Jaro and Mandurriao on July 21 at Jaro Plaza; Molo and Arevalo on July 28 at Molo Plaza; and La Paz and Lapuz on August 4 at La Paz plaza.
After which, the main category will be composed of dance groups which will represent every district, with 8-15 members ages 15-30 years old.
During the finale on August 11 at SM City Southpoint, the additional categories will be Special Open for non-residents of the city with no age limit; and Special Junior Category for ages 14 and below.
For elimination, P3,000 will be given for the first placer, P3,000 for second placer and P2,000 for third placer.
The first placer for Inter District Main category will get P10,000, second placer with P7,000, and third placer with P5,000.
For Special Junior category, P5,000 will be given for the first placer, P3,000 for second placer and P2,000 for third placer.
The first placer for Special Open categories will be given P10,000, second placer with P7,000, and third placer with P5,000. (PR)
