Capitol accountant asked to bare payroll

MISAMIS Oriental board member Frederick Khu over the weekend said he would pass a resolution requesting Governor Yevgeney Emano to order the provincial accountant and human resource office to furnish them with copies of Capitol’s payroll to find out whether or not “ghost employees” exist in the legislative body.

Khu said the payroll will show who receives and signs the salaries of the workers in the Provincial Board and how many employees under the job order arrangement have been hired per board member.

He said only Vice Governor Joey Pelaez knows the number of JO employees working for each board member.

Khu raised the issue at the plenary through a privilege speech but this did not sit well with his colleagues who dared him to show proof.

The majority bloc categorically denied the accusation which stemmed from a hearsay.

But Khu said even it came from a rumor, it still warrants an investigation to clear the name of the provincial board from the said allegations.

Emano also said earlier that the provincial board should acknowledge and look into the issue even it came from a hearsay.

Khu assured that evidences will be presented soon and at the proper time, adding that it would be a long battle.

“One hundred percent naa ta ebidensya sa insaktong panahon moabot ra ta sa atong mga ebidensya nga ipagawas (We have the evidence 100 percent which will be presented in due time),”Khu said.

“Kung dili aprobahan ang resolution naa naman pud tay lain nga move (If the resolution is not approved we will try something else),” he added.

Khu also clarified that his intention was not politically motivated as he never single out any member of the provincial board.
