San Simon top cop vows crackdown vs drug pushers

SAN SIMON -- The newly-installed chief of police, Chief Inspector Louie Gonzaga, has issued a stern warning against individuals involved in illegal drugs in town to stop their illegal activities or get jailed.

“I am warning all personalities involved in illegal drugs to stop now because I will not hesitate to run after you. I don’t care kung anong affiliation niyo diyan, I don’t care kung matagal na kayo, for as long as you are involved in illegal drugs, I will come after you,” stressed Gonzaga right after his courtesy call to Mayor Leonora Wong.

Gonzaga, who was the Company Commander of the 8th Mobile Company of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) before being detailed here, said that he will strictly implement the campaign against illegal drugs of President Duterte in this town.

Following the leadership style of Philippine National Police (PNP)Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde, he stressed that he will also be firm and decisive in leading the local police force in the bid to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in town.

“I had the privilege of working with Chief PNP (Albayalde) during his stint at the NCRPO and I look up to his leadership style as firm and decisive and I hope that I can emulate that during my style here,” he said.

“Some sector may not appreciate iyong ginagawa ng ating Chief PNP but for as long as it will benefit the majority and is headed towards the common goal of maintaining peace and order and eradicating illegal drugs, we will still do it,” he added.

For the faster attainment of his goal, Gonzaga stressed that he mulls the installation of community police action center in Barangay San Juan to provide quick response on emergency situations, particularly relating to lawlessness and crimes.

He added that he is also set to convene the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council and Municipal Peace and Order Council to discuss about possible new measures to implement in order to ensure protection of general public.

Asked about the marching orders of Wong, Gonzaga stated "siguraduhing mapanatili ang San Simon bilang isang lugar kung saan pwede kang mamuhay at magtrabaho ng maayos, free from the threats of criminality and illegal drugs.”
