85 young leaders join Bacolor Youth Summit

BACOLOR -- A first-ever Villa de Bacolor Youth Summit themed “Anac Baculud, Tara Na! (Youth of Bacolor, Let’s Go!)” was held here on Saturday until Sunday at Mayor Buddy Dungca’s farm in Barangay Macabacle.

The youth summit was participated in by some 85 young leaders from all barangays of the resurging municipality.

Dungca said the youth summit was meant to make the youth aware of their potential responsibilities in helping the town move ahead in the coming years.

“Primarily, this youth summit aims to let them trace the culture and history of Bacolor as it was. At the end of the summit, they will craft and devise programs and plans that will help Bacolor,” Dungca told Sun.Star Pampanga.

Dungca’s son Ron, who is aspiring for the mayoral seat in the coming elections, corroborated his father’s statements and said the youth, like him, could do much for the growth of the town.

“This first-ever youth summit aims to bind our young leaders in the town. We are out to prove that we can help in the development of the town and that we can do something in meeting today’s challenges,” he said.

The young Dungca hopes that the summit will be sustained in the coming years.

The two-day summit featured planning sessions, lectures, cultural night and leadership-honing activities. (JTD)
