Bulacan farmers receive P10-M machinery

IN CELEBRATION of three decades of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) provincial office in Bulacan distributed farm machinery worth P10 million to six agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in the province during a ceremony held Friday, June 22, at the Baliwag Star Arena in Baliuag town.

The six units of DC 60 Kubota rice combined harvesters were distributed for free to farmers in the municipalities of Bustos, Plaridel, San Ildefonso, San Miguel and Baliuag. Each unit costs more than P1.5 million.

According to provincial agrarian reform program officer II (PARPO II) Emmanuel Aguinaldo, the rice harvesters were acquired using DAR’s funds under the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity Economic Support Services or ARCCESS program.

During the event, more than 80 certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) and emancipation patents (EPs) were also awarded to about 70 farmer-beneficiaries of CARP in the province.

DAR is celebrating its 30th year anniversary with the theme CARP@30:DARe2Change. (PR)
