THE BCYF Innovation Awards by the Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF), in partnership with SGV and the Department of Science and Technology, was launched on Tuesday in the City Sports Club Cebu.

This award is part of BCYF’s Comprehensive Social Development Program, which consists of research, education, events, and developmental social enterprise, and aims to recognize innovations in the areas of government service, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), education, technology, and industry, which have made a difference in the lives of others.

“That is why we are here this afternoon, to share with you the vision that it is time to come out of the shadows, and tell, not the world, but our neighbors, our fellow Cebuanos, that there are many innovative things waiting to be discovered and to be shared. That there is innovation in everything you think that is not good enough,” said BCYF founder and chairman Antonio Yap.

The BCYF Innovation awarding ceremony will be held on Nov. 29.

Anyone can nominate a self-initiated innovation or an innovation by another person or organization. Innovations within the last five years that have produced tangible results in improving their areas of concern will be recognized. The nomination period runs from May 15 to Aug. 21.
