6 yield P558,000 in ‘shabu’

AN ESTIMATED total of P558,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized from six drug personalities in separate drug bust in cities of Bacolod and Talisay in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Bacolod, Mary Christine Lachica, a target-listed of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental was arrested Wednesday, June 27, at Villa Angela Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte after PDEA operatives seized from her six sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P204,000, an improvised tooter, and P1,100 marked money.

Lachica is detained at Police Station 4.

Personnel of Police Station 4 also collared yesterday, June 27, Floriza Virgel, 24, of Purok Ceriza 2, Barangay 27, this city, a newly identified drug personality, after she yielded six sachets of suspected shabu weighing three grams worth P36,000, purse, the P1,000 marked money and P620 in cash.

Senior Inspector John Adrian Real, head of Police Station 4, said they monitored Virgel's drug transactions for two weeks.

She is also detained at the police station.

Police Station 1 also arrested Rex Dela Cruz, 24, of Barangay 11, after he sold a shabu to a police agent for P300 in a transaction held at Purok Boulevard, Barangay 13 yesterday.

Police confiscated from him two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,000, lighter, improvised tooter, coin purse, cellular phone, and the P300 marked money.

In Talisay City, Rudyard Tecson, 37, of Barangay Dos Hermanas was arrested yesterday at Barangay Zone 12-A after police recovered from him 14 sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P74,000, cellular phone, and drug paraphernalia. He is the ninth drug personality under the watchlist of the city police.

On June 26, two street-level target drug personalities were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

Collared were Razzel Baguing, 38, and Reggie Pranisa, 42, both residents of the village. They yielded P243,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Members of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, assistant team leader, raided Baguing’s house around 11:30 p.m.

Police records showed that Baguing allegedly sold a shabu to a police agent for P1,000.

Police recovered from Baguing seven sachets of suspected shabu, pouch, and the P1,000 marked money.

Pranisa was also arrested after he allegedly conspired with Baguing in the drug transaction.

Both are detained at Police Station 8.

Also arrested on Tuesday was Ramoncito Dela Cruz, 37, of Barangay Sum-ag, who was caught carrying a firearm while walking at Fiesta Homes in the village.

Dela Cruz, who is a drug surrenderer, yielded a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with a live ammunition, and two sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and a nine-inch knife.

He is detained at Police Station 9. (GYM)
