3 persons to answer Animal Hub mess

NEGROS Occidental Acting Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson revealed that three persons will have to answer for the construction of the controversial Animal Hub at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City without bidding and go signal from the provincial government.

Lacson said this is based on the statements of lawyer Mary Ann Lamis of the Provincial Legal Office, who heads the fact-finding team, and lawyer Japhet Masculino, who is also a member of the probe team.

However, Lacson would not elaborate the content of the report, saying he leaves it to the governor to decide on what to do with the report of the fact-finding team.

Marañon will be back from vacation leave on Monday, July 2.

Lacson, however, would not say the names of the three persons or confirm if they are Capitol officials or not.

Capitol was supposed to build a P10 million Negros First Animal Hub project but decided not to continue with the project because the construction of the building didn’t undergo a bidding process. The structure also has no permit.

The financier has already spent P4 million for the building which is already about 80 percent completed.*
