THE newly-installed Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director, Senior Supt. Royina Garma, wants her template in Cebu to be the same as that she used during her stint in Davao City.

Minutes after the turnover ceremony, Garma, who replaced Senior Supt. Joel Doria after his two-year stint, gave orders to her commanders to enforce all ordinances.

“My template will be Davao. I’ve been station commander twice sa dalawang cities wherein nandun ang nga affected barangays and the policing system that I have applied there was very effective. We will enforce all ordinances to make sure that the community will be peaceful, day and night,” she said.

Garma said that she will establish a hotline, “Isumbong mo kay CD,” for the public to report directly to her about any illegal activities.

“I have a plan for the city and I have targets to be achieved. Okay naman yung policies ni Sir Doria; we will enhance and adapt,” she said.

Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña was present and praised Doria for his work in maintaining peace and order.

He said that he wanted the crime reports to go up, contrary to what President Rodrigo Duterte said, so that there will be response on the part of the police, which the public will feel.

Osmeña also tasked CCPO to respond to complaints about loud karaokes in the city.

“I get many texts a day. And I can see the reluctance of the police to crack down on the noisy karaokes. I’m giving a warning to all the police in the different precincts,” Osmeña said.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Chief Supt. Debold Sinas said he hopes Garma would surpass Doria in terms of accomplishments in her new assignment. (JOB)
