NHA conducts orientation on Yolanda resettlement sites

BENEFICIARIES or awardees of the Yolanda Housing are prohibited to sell, encumber, mortgage, lease, sublet, alter or dispose the lot or lot with housing unit, or rights and interest, in part or in whole, within 20 years from the issuance of the title.

This was underscored by Jasmin Beloya of the National Housing Authority-Bacolod during the recently held orientation in the Third District of Negros Occidental for the disposition of Yolanda permanent housing units.

The conditions are contained in NHA Memorandum Circular 2018-004.

A total of 5,481 Yolanda permanent housing units are to be turned over to qualified beneficiaries in the Third District.

For Silay City, 1,992 housing units located in Barangay E. Lopez are being readied for turnover, including the multi-purpose covered court with a training center, and open spaces for community facilities.

The orientation in Silay was held June 26 at the Kansilayan Gym annex building, with Mayor Mark Golez heading the local government unit (LGU).

Moreover, there are 1,168 housing units for turnover in Barangay Sto. Niño in E.B. Magalona.

A similar orientation was also held in E.B. Magalona on June 28 at the Mayor’s Conference Room attended by Mayor Marvin Malacon and other officials.

Aside from open spaces for community facilities, a similar covered court with training center will also be constructed in the E.B. Magalona Yolanda Resettlement Site.

The Yolanda Resettlement Site in Victorias City has 2,321 housing Units, and the NHA orientation will be held Tuesday, July 3.

According to Engineer Alejandro Ongsuco, NHA Bacolod Area Manager, there are 27,055 Yolanda permanent housing units in Negros Occidental which are all constructed in northern Negros, of which 5,481 units are in the three LGUs of the Third District. (PR)
