AirAsia launches Clark-Taipei route

CLARK FREEPORT -- Philippines Air Asia is set to inaugurate its new route -- Clark International Airport to Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei, Taiwan -- on July 12.

Local officials led by Governor Lilia Pineda are expected to join the inaugural flight.

Aside from local executives, heads of government agencies will also participate in the maiden flight.

Jen Bugarin Tan, communications manager of Air Asia Philippines, said that the inaugural event will be attended by AirAsia Philippines Chairperson Maan Hontiveros and AAP CEO Captain Dexter Comendador.

Philippines AirAsia operates a fleet of 17 aircraft with domestic and international routes.

The airline has several flights to and from Manila, Davao, Cebu, Kalibo, Caticlan (Boracay), Tacloban, Tagbilaran (Bohol), Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Clark, and Iloilo.

It also operates flights to and from Shanghai, Taipei, Incheon (Seoul), Hong Kong, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, Jakarta, and Bali.
