CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City of San Fernando has been recognized by the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Incorporated (CLGCFI) for its successful institutionalization in 2017 of the Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS), translating to ease of doing business here during the 12th Recognition of Outstanding Central Luzon Local Government Units (LGUs) implementing the streamlining program in the issuance of mayor’s permit.
The award, conferred by CLGCFI in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Information and Communications Technology over the weekend at the Diwa ng Tarlak Convention Center, Tarlac City, noted of the city’s successful development of quality management system and ISO certification.
Mayor Edwin Santiago expressed his gratitude to the CLGCFI for recognizing the city’s efforts and commitment in providing quality public service.
“This is a proof that in the City of San Fernando, we value customer satisfaction. I congratulate the Business License and Permit Division for their successful implementation of the BPLS and sustaining the efficient and fast processing of business permits,” Santiago said.
Santiago furthered that the award serves as an inspiration to do better, in order to enhance and improve business transactions in the city.
“Of course, we will improve this and do our best in delivering high quality services to boost San Fernando’s economy,” Santiago added.
Meanwhile, the city also received plaques of recognition from the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index for being the fourth overall competitive city in Central Luzon. The city was ranked second for economic dynamism, sixth for resiliency, and 10th for infrastructure.
