Arroyo to grace Ched national games

PRES. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will be the guest of honor in the opening ceremonies of the Commission on Higher Education (Ched) National Games on Feb. 22 at the Rizal Memorial track oval.

Ched Chairman Dr. Emmanuel Angeles said this will be Arroyo’s last appearance in a sports competition before she leaves office in June.

“This will be her last engagement in a sporting event before her term ends,” said Angeles during Monday’s press conference at the Philippine Sports Commission.

Angeles said the National Games, which will be hosted by the National Capital Region,  will be participated by some 6,171 athletes from 17 regions throughout the country.

“All student-athletes seeing action are the champions from the different regional competitions last December. All of them are college students,” added Angeles.
