THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested four foreign nationals in separate operations conducted in Biñan, Baguio and Manila.
BI Acting Intelligence Chief Fortunato Manahan identified the foreign nationals as Korean national Jin Jaehyung, Japanese national Akitoshi Kadobayashi and Chinese nationals Li Yan Yan and Lin Feng Jian.
All four are facing deportation cases.
According to the BI, the foreign nationals were caught in the act of violating immigration laws in the country.
Jin was arrested in Baguio City last June 28.
The BI said a check of the Bureau’s derogatory records revealed that Jin is a fugitive in Korea where he is wanted for fraud.
The BI found that Jin is overstaying in the Philippines.
Kadobayashi was arrested on July 3 inside his office at the Laguna Technopark Economic Zone in Biñan City, Laguna for working in the country without a work permit and visa, according to the BI.
On the same day, the BI operatives arrested in Manila Yan and Jian for also working in the country without work permits.
All four aliens have been transferred to the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig pending their deportation. (Keith A. Calayag/SunStar Philippines)
