Trinidad: Archangel Uriel and Mt. Agung

WE WERE meditating at the slopes of Mt. Agung, four kilometres from its peak, when the volcano erupted. That was around 7 p.m., Bali time. (Indonesia is an hour later than Philippine time).

We had just finished the earth blessing at Bali’s mother temple, Besakih, less than an hour earlier, and had no idea about the heightened activity at the volcano.

There were more than 40 of us who traveled to Bali for our yearly sacred site meditations and earth healing activities. Most of us arrived on the same flight. Most of us were leaving on the 30th, two days after the eruption.

Back on Mt. Agung, our temple guide came up to me as soon as I concluded the meditation. Calmly, he pointed out the glowing reddish tip of Mt. Agung. Thick smoke was being emitted from the crater.

He said the view would be better outside and walked away swiftly. If I knew any better, he was getting us out quietly without causing a stampede.

When we reached the parking area, Riyun, our driver, was frantic. He exclaimed we should leave immediately. It was dangerous, the volcano could explode, and we were too close.

We called everyone; some were still taking pictures, unaware of the danger. We made sure we all made it to our vehicles, and left.

That was the very first time I saw Riyun drive fast. He is a safe driver, preferring to go slow. But that evening, he really speeded up.

We monitored the situation all night. Several airlines cancelled flights. And then, Denpasar airport closed.

I had begun mentally ticking options to get out of Bali. The last time Mt. Agung erupted, the airport was closed for three days. Include the chaos of delayed and cancelled flights: staying a week longer in Bali was becoming a solid possibility,

Another option: fly to Surabaya, onward to KL (Kuala Lumpur). Fast ferry to Lombok, fly to KL. That would compound expenses though...

The next morning, during our tribute to Mother Earth, we invoked Archangel Michael for protection.

We also asked the help of Archangel Uriel to calm down Mt. Agung so we could all go home.

Archangel Uriel is the archangel in charge of the earth, the weather. He is also the archangel of clarity. His name means “Fire of God”, or “Light of God”, or “God is Light.”

Around 3 p.m., June 29, Denpasar airport reopened. Most of the status of the cancelled flights had now become en route or delayed.

The day of the return flights: save for a shortened group tour and long, long lines at check-in counters at the airport, and last minute announcement of boarding gates, everyone made it.

Very grateful they are all back in their homes in the Philippines.

Very grateful for the experience, the insights, the solid proof of connection to energy, to our crystals, to the Earth, to our angels and archangels, to God.

Qinnection. This was our theme for this year’s activity.
