Sungduan: Power of unity

THE power of unity among the members of the Bibak Manitoba in Canada resulted to their victory in the competitions for the 7th Manitoba Filipino Street Festival.

From the parade to their performance at the Maples Multiplex, members of Bibak Manitoba showed their strong presence as they move to the beat of the gongs with the youth showcasing the best culture and tradition of the Apayao province.

The viewers also expressed their appreciation to the beautifully designed float of the group highlighting Burnham Park as the prime destination in Baguio City and a place where one can have fond memories and enjoy the environment.

Following the theme “Samut Saring Saya,” the float made out of recycled materials also won the heart of the judges and declared it as the champion in the Best Float Competition.

Not only that. Bibak Manitoba also won 2nd place in the Best in Costume & Cultural Presentation for their Say-Am Festival of Apayao demonstration with the Bibak youth as the main performers. They also won 2nd Place in the Best in Decorative Tent competition.

Bibak Association of Manitoba president Virginia Gayot said all these blessings they have received are result of teamwork among all members of their group.

Recognizing their competence, Manitoba Filipino Street Festival President Ley Navarro said it is Bibak Manitoba that really gives color to the yearly event.

Once again the Cordillerans in Canada have proven that with great leadership, solidarity, and camaraderie success is within reach.

Congratulations to the Bibak Association of Manitoba!
