PDEA-Davao Region seizes P750,000 illegal drugs

ONE of Davao Region’s high-value targets was nabbed by authorities during a joint drug bust in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur on Thursday, July 5, along with the recovery of P750,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Noli Nephi Dimaandal, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional (PDEA)-Davao Region information officer, said that the agents from Davao del Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Office of PDEA-Davao together with Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station and 1104th Regional Mobile Force Batallion conducted a drug bust last at 5:10 p.m., at Sitio Tacub, Barangay Zone 1, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

The suspect was identified as Aldrin Anta Bautista, 33, and a tricycle driver.

Bautista was arrested for selling one sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” worth P2,000 to a PDEA agent.

After the undercover agent announced his authority, another pack of shabu weighing more or less 50 grams with a street value of P750,000 and the drug bust marked money bill were recovered from him.

At present, Bautista is detained at PDEA’S detention facility while the seized suspected illegal drugs were submitted to Laboratory Service for qualitative examination.

Meanwhile, cases for violation of Section 5, and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him. (JCR)
