Jaguar’s ‘ex-cook’ falls in drug raid

NINE alleged drug users, including a slain police officer’s relative, were arrested for having a pot session in a beach resort in Barangay Bonbon, Aloguinsan last Saturday night.

One of the suspects, Khier Batomalaque, 19, is reportedly a nephew of PO2 Melchizedek Batomalaque, an alleged narco-cop who was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Toledo City last June 19.

Five minors were arrested during the operation.

At 11:30 p.m., on the same night, Jaldon Bugtai Pinote and his partner Annabelle Delica Cañedo yielded 10 grams of white crystals believed to be shabu worth P118,000, a Dangerous Drugs Board value, after they were caught in Sitio Ka Buloy, Barangay Catarman, Liloan.

In Barangay Maravilla, Tabuelan, at 10:40 p.m., Johnick Armand Jugan Bandolon Jr., 29, was caught in a drug bust. He yielded 0.50 gram of shabu worth P10,000.

The suspect claimed he was a former cook of slain drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz.

Before the arrest in Aloguinsan at 11 p.m., a resort employee reported them to the police after he saw them smoking marijuana. Operatives rushed to the area and caught them.

The suspects, who hail from Toledo City, rented two rooms in the resort nights before their arrests. The other adults arrested are Genesis Cañete, 19; and Gylle Sipalay, 18.

Operatives seized cigarettes containing dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects will face complaints for violating the Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
