Couple, 6 others nabbed for drugs

A COUPLE and six others were arrested for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs in separate operations in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City from July 6 to 8.

On July 8, Remil Giamal, 47, of Sagay City was arrested in a drug bust after police seized from him four sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), cellular phone, vehicle, and P350 in cash.

On July 7, Edwin Alvarez, 51, of Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City was arrested in a drug bust that led to a recovery of four sachets of suspected shabu, the P200 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P420 in cash. He is detained at Police Station 8.

Last Friday, Dominic Pilante, 38, fish vendor, a drug surrenderer, and his partner Sherlyn Politico, 31, a newly-identified drug personality, of Barangay II Poblacion, La Carlota City, was arrested in a drug bust in the said village.

Police recovered from them seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500, a coin purse, and the P500 marked money.

On the same day, Dar Johnrey Manzano, 21, of Barangay Busay, Bago City, was also collared at Bago City Sports Center in Barangay Balingasag after police received a text message from a concerned citizen reporting a group of suspicious people inside the venue.

Police caught the suspect smoking suspected marijuana using a foil. Another suspected marijuana was also confiscated from Manzano.

In Cadiz City, Roem Pabalan, 36, of Barangay Daga, a newly identified drug personality, was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Zone 2 on July 6 after police seized from him three sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P3,500, and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested in Cadiz City, on the same day, was Engilbert Quiatchon, 28, of Barangay Daga, after he yielded 11 sachets of suspected shabu worth P10,500, the P500 marked money, canister, and two cellular phones.

Police records showed that Quiatchon was previously arrested for the same offense in November 2009 but the case was dismissed on December 2017.

In Bacolod City, Rolando Baylon, 36, of Barangay 27 was arrested after police raided his house in the village on Friday.

Police seized from him four sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, and the P500 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 4. (GYM)
