Ceres, Kaya in today’s decider

PHILIPPINE Football League leader Ceres Negros FC and Kaya Iloilo FC will play their deciding match today at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

Both clubs carry each a record of one win, two draws and a loss between them.

With Stephan Schrock in doubt to play due to a swelling leg, the Busmen are expected to draw some offensive force from the returning Bienvenido Marañon, who got his first feel of the pitch last Saturday, July 7, after coming off an injury.

Ceres is looking at Takumi Uesato, OJ Porteria and Patrick Reichelt to deliver the needed score. The defensive adjustment might also be made in the backline with skipper Martin Stueble, Junior Muñoz, Carli de Murga and Super Herrera marking in particular Kaya’s Robert Mendy and Jovin Bedic.

Kaya FC might also miss defensive specialist Camelo Tacusalme who was injured last Saturday - in addition to their list of hurt players. Still nursing from injury are the Soriano brothers, Janrick and Jalsor, who are playing important roles in the team.

With few games remaining in the league and the AFC Zonal finals against Home United in August, Ceres FC Coach Risto Vidakovic continuously felt worried about his team’s health as injuries hit his players.

“I do not know what to say. I cannot motivate my players more. It’s very difficult for the players because they don’t feel any protection and nothing is given,” he said.

Kaya FC mentor Noel Marcaida and his wards are not only hoping to get the three points today but also give their home fans their best performance on the field.
