Mayor brings Iloilo to World Cities Summit

ILOILO City Mayor Jose Espinosa III is one of the selected mayors all over the globe who are attending the 6th World Cities Summit and Mayors Forum 2018 in Singapore July 8 to 12.

Espinosa has always prioritized innovations in enhancing the delivery of services of the City Government. He initiated the “Pag-ulikid” or Care Program which conducts frontline services in the barangays (villages), thus bringing governance closer to the people.

He has also constantly emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership between the city government and its stakeholders in addressing the needs and challenges in making Iloilo City a "Premier SMART City of Excellence".

Espinosa is hopeful he would promote and sell the metropolis as well as establish international networks and linkages in the global gathering organized by the Singaporean government.

The Mayors Forum is an exclusive by-invitation-only gathering of leaders to discuss pressing city challenges and share best practices anchored on the theme "Embracing the Future through Innovation and Collaboration."

The biennial summit is the premier platform for government leaders and industry experts to address livable and sustainable city challenges, share integrated urban solutions and forge new partnerships. (PR)
