Comval police office files 16 drug raps

THE Compostela Valley Provincial Police Office (CVPPO) has noted 16 drug complaints were filed before the provincial prosecution office in Compostela Valley from April to June this year.

CVPPO director Senior Superintendent Roderico Roy, during the AFP-PNP press conference at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, said its office has so far arrested 16 persons for possessing illegal drugs in its area.

Roy said suspects were brought to prosecution office for inquest proceedings, adding that they are facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

He said their office is still conducting close surveillance on four high-valued target and other persons involved in illegal drug activities in the province.

Roy, however, refused to divulge the identity of the other drug personalities so as not to preempt the police’ ongoing monitoring.

He said they are still in the process of gathering evidences to back their claims. (ICT)
