AN ARABIC teacher was killed, while his daughter was unscathed, in a drive-by shooting late Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police reported.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) reported the incident happened around 10 p.m., Tuesday, in the village of Talon-Talon, east of this city.
The police identified the fatality as Ibrahim Baguinda, 34, an Arabic teacher.
Baguinda’s daughter, Nushran, was not harmed by the suspects. She sustained contusions when the motorcycle they were riding slumped on the pavement.
Investigation showed one of two men riding tandem in a motorcycle repeatedly shot the elder Baguinda, who was driving motorcycle together with his daughter along the Talon-Talon Loop road heading towards Don Alfaro Street, Tetuan village.
The police said the suspects, wearing full-face crash helmet and masks, approached and again repeatedly shot the elder Baguinda, whose motorcycle slumped on the pavement.
The police recovered from the crime scene 24 empty shells of 9-millimeter pistol.
The police said the suspects fled towards the village of Talon-Talon.
Investigation continues in a bid to establish the identity as well arrested the suspects, the police added. (SunStar Philippines)
