WHO attempted to burn the miraculous image of the Blessed Mother (Our Lady of Fatima) inside a small chapel in an undisclosed subdivision in Bacolod City?
The owner told SunStar Bacolod that past 12 p.m. on July 12, her sister and himself were shocked to see the fire slowly burning the glass casing of the Blessed Mother. Nobody was inside the small chapel but there was a small container of alcohol left on the floor which they suspected to have been used by the unknown person to burn the image.
The rosaries made of wood were all burned, the right end portion of the glass casing cracked and showed traces of black smoke wrapping a portion of the glass.
"I rushed to the nearest restroom to get a pail of water and splashed it to the affected area. I shouted at first, seeing the fire. I really wonder why somebody will do it to the Blessed Mother," the owner was baffled.
With that incident, they are now keeping a close watch on who comes to the chapel.
“This is what we don't like to happen. I prayed that all those who come will fulfill want the Blessed Mother wants us to do which is to pray the Rosary. But for someone who will come with a bad intention, that is very awful,” the owner said.
They were very grateful that the image was saved. The culprit did not succeed in burning the image.
They will continue to pray that the image will continue to touch the lives of so many people who already forgot to pray the Rosary. (CNC)
