Paduano now a Bacolod voter

ABANG Lingkod party-list Representative Stephen Paduano has transferred his voting registration from E.B. Magalona to Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City to where he resides for 10 years already on Saturday, July 14.

Paduano, who went to Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Bacolod office on Saturday, said he transferred his voting registration here for convenience.

"It took me about two hours to vote in E.B. Magalona every election and besides, I am a resident of Bacolod City. I will also join my wife who has been a voter of Bacolod City in the past two elections already," Paduano said.

As to his future political plans, Paduano said he only has two options as he has already decided not to retire from politics anymore.

His options, he said, are either he will seek re-election for his third term or to run a post in Bacolod City in 2019.

"I have been a congressman for two terms. It would be awkward if I will run for a councilor or vice mayor. So if I will run in Bacolod City, it would be either for congressman of the Lone District or for mayor," Paduano said.

He also said that he will make his final decision in August or until the first week of September.

Meanwhile, Paduano said that during the birthday party of former mayor Monico Puentevella, they talked about local politics.

"We are politicians, what would we do there? Eat cakes and have beso-beso with each other. Or are our mouths were stapled that we could not talk? It's not true that there was no political discussion in that gathering. We discussed politics but it was an informal discussion and not yet official," he said.

He said that he even declared to those who were there - Puentevella, Councilor Ricardo Tan, businessman Vladimir Gonzales and former vice mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson - that either he runs for re-election with the party-list or in Bacolod City, and that he will support Sayson for vice mayor.

"I also told them that if they cannot wait for me to decide until August or until the first week of September, then they have to decide on their own," he added.
