THE Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) inaugurated its Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) facility and mental health unit Tuesday.

Leading the blessing and inauguration rites is CLMMRH hospital Chief Dr. Julius Drilon along with Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and other officials.

The MRI facility, under its Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiologic Sciences, will house the 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging Machine which is capable of doing diagnostic procedures like MRI of the brain, musculoskeletal, abdomen, and others.

It will be available at a lower rate to cater the needs of its patients. The facility is also considered to have a healing environment.

Moreover, the hospital’s mental health unit, which is under the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Section, is a 12-bed facility with 25 health personnel who will assist those who need a specialized psychiatric service.

Negros Occidental does not have such facility for more than 20 years.

Its psychiatric ward, also an open ward, is a first of its kind in the province, which is considered as a great milestone.
