Iloilo City Government to provide more patrol cars

THE Iloilo City Government will provide more patrol cars for the different agencies.

Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) Director Henry Biñas said that Mayor Jose Espinosa III have committed about 15 patrol cars.

Agencies identified as recipients include the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine Coast Guard-Iloilo, and Icpo.

But Biñas is hoping that Icpo will get 12 cars, which will be used as mobile patrol vehicles.

He said there are about two or three patrol cars per police station, but some of these vehicles already have defects, citing they sometimes malfunction.

Biñas said they will also ask the City to cover the maintenance of these patrol cars since the police office has a limited budget for the repair. (SunStar Philippines)
