THE Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham), responding to the concerns expressed by its member companies regarding Megaworld’s township project The Capital Town, recently initiated a consultation meeting with the property giant.
The meeting, which was held prior to the chamber’s 157th Board of Directors’ meeting, came about after the chamber lamented the planned township’s potential impact to flood and traffic at the former Pasudeco site in Sto. Niño, City of San Fernando.
During the meeting, Megaworld presented Capital Town’s development plans which touts a rainwater park and ample open spaces intended to promote ecological balance and mitigate soil saturation in this flood prone area of the city. They also outlined the traffic routing schemes within the development to prevent congestion of the city roads when it opens to the public.
Megaworld then assured the business community that its architectural designs will integrate innovative green technologies in the construction of its commercial and office buildings, completing and enhancing Pampanga’s cultural heritage imbued within the Pasudeco heritage site.
It said that their ultimate objective is to create an integrated urban township community that will depict the city’s progress while showcasing the cultural and traditional backdrop of the area.
PamCham’s board, for their part, expressed appreciation to Megaworld’s sensitivity to the Kapampangan heritage and commended the developer’s mindful protectiveness of the ecological balance and preservative approach to environment conservation in the province of Pampanga. (PR)
