DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio led the inaugration of Barangay Mintal's child-minding center and senior citizen center Tuesday, July 17.
The child center is exclusively for toddlers aged two to three years old of city government workers, for recreation and education while their parents are working.
The center for the elderly attends to all needs of the barangay’s senior citizens.
“Mintal is one of the many barangays like Calinan and Barangay 27 where we have child centers of government employees and workers,” the mayor said.
The centers are the projects of former barangay captain Ramon M. Bargamento II for Mintal.
“I made sure that the center will be opened before I left my position as I promised to mayor Inday,” Bargamento said.
Bargamento added that the child-minding center would not be possible without the support of the Davao City Social Services Development Office.
”Here they get to play with different kids and learn how to build friendship and good manners through recreation. We also have stories and movies for kids to enjoy,” teacher Marivic Cabactulan said. The child-minding center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
