Training on PCOS machines use set

THE poll body is conducting training for its personnel and teachers on the use of Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines that will be utilized in the coming elections.

Zamboanga Peninsula election director Helen Aguila-Flores said the training is aimed to orient the Commission on Elections (Comelec) personnel and teachers on the operations of the PCOS machines.

Flores said the first to be trained are the Comelec personnel, to be followed by the teachers who will serve as Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) in the May national and local elections.

Flores said the training for election personnel in Zamboanga City is scheduled to be held Wednesday at the Comelec regional office.

She said the training for the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte will be conducted separately from February 18 to 20 and 24 to 25.

She said the training for the teachers, who will serve as BEIs, is scheduled from the middle of March until May to prepare them for the May 10 elections.

With the training, Flores has high hopes that the conduct of the elections will be done in orderly manner.
