DOC Emz Barkadista Motorista cruised to a 59-45 win over Team Irish and were crowned champions of the Monday Squad Basketball (MSBC) Season 2 last Sunday in the Casals Village Gym, Mabolo, Cebu City.
The Motorista opened the championship match with guns blazing as they rushed to a 17-5 edge in the first quarter. Irish recovered in the second quarter to trim down the deficit to three, 24-21.
Motorista once again broke away in the third quarter to build up a 42-31 lead before finishing Irish off with a 14-point edge in the final tally.
Eventual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Uking De Los Santos scored 10 of his 13 points in the first quarter to lead the Motorista’s hot start in the opening quarter.
Francis Labay finished with 10 points, while Jayson Bantilan and Jeffrey Pacuri added eight points each for the Motorista.
Fernando Aragones paced Irish with nine points while Jimmy Ople and Gilbert Violango added eight points apiece. (RSC)
