City Hall exec urges employees to respect taxpayers

BACOLOD City Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo, member of Anti-Red Tape Act Core team, urged the city employees to give due respect to the taxpayers.

This, after one of the top 10 corporate taxpayers in Bacolod filed a complaint against the regular employee assigned at the Permits and Licensing Division for allegedly dealing him arrogantly.

Montoyo said Tuesday, July 17, they are now finalizing the report with the recommendation to be submitted to the Anti-Red Tape Core team and Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

He said he received the complaint in June with the copies of affidavit and police blotter report.

“To our front liners, we should give due respect to our taxpayers because they are paying their taxes to support our programs and projects for the development of the city,” he added.

Montoyo noted that Bacolod was recently awarded as the Most Business Friendly City in the country this year.

“We were given that title so we should maintain that recognition. We are here to serve our constituents, especially our taxpayers,” Montoyo said.

He said the erring employee should be reprimanded, transferred to other offices or to undergo orientation or training for the customers or taxpayers relations.

“Let us give what is due to our taxpayers all the respects that we can because they are the one giving us what we have in this city,” he added. (MAP)
