BATTLE-scarred veteran Rodel Wenceslao looks to win back-to-back fights as he faces unbeaten Uzbek prospect Jasur Akhmadjonov in Sanman Promotions’ “Brawl at the Mall 11” on July 29 at the Robinson’s Mall in Gen. Santos City.
Following a five fight losing streak from 2016 to 2017, Wenceslao finally put his name back up on the winning column after
“I’ll do my best and give everything I have in my power to win. I won’t be complacent because I have not seen him fight,” Wenseslao told SunStar Cebu.
The 25-year-old Wenceslao is somewhat of a spoiler. He has scored some upsets in the past, like wins over current World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Silver super light weight champion Kun Wang, and former WBC Oceania and WBC Youth super lightweight king Sonny Katiandagho.
Little is known of the 22-year-old Akhmadjonov. His biggest win is a second round knockout of one-time world title challenger Roy Mukhlis.
Wenceslao, based in Mandaue City, is 12-16-1 with five knockouts, while Akhmadjonov is 5-0 with three knockouts.
