A LOCAL chief executive believes that well-nourished and loved children ensure the good future of the country.
“The children are our future. If we nourish and love our children today, we can be assured that our future is safe in their hands,” La Carlota City Mayor Luis Jaladoni III said.
During a recent Nutrition Month activity in the city, he said that for over 42 years now, La Carlota City has practiced strategies transmitted by the National Nutrition Council (NNC) through four major interventions which are: family planning, nutrition information and education, food production, and food assistance.
He said the City Government responds to the call for prioritizing and nurturing the health of its children and fighting malnutrition for more than two decades now.
Jalandoni said micronutrients are important to a growing child “thus, our LGU and the private sector have to join hands and go forward in the march towards fighting malnutrition.”
Public service delivery to help children grow with a sound mind and a sound body should continue to be intensified, he added.
"The truth will come out if we plant the seeds of love and compassion they will grow like the green trees that will ultimately save the human race because the future lies in the hands of our," he said. (PR)
