A SOLDIER shot his comrade dead early Thursday morning inside their headquarters in Tapaz town in Capiz.
Private First Class (PFC) Delio Sebarillo was killed by PFC Sarjie Labao, 28, using a caliber 9 millimeter handgun inside the Bravo Company of the 94th Infantry Battalion headquarters in Barangay Lagdungan around 4 a.m. Thursday, July 19.
Philippine Army 3rd Division spokesperson Captain Eduardo Precioso said Sebarillo was rushed to the Tapaz District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.
Precioso said Labao is now under the custody of the Tapaz Municipal police station. He has yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
“A parallel investigation will be conducted by the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division on incident,” Precioso said.
“Rest assured that this is an isolated case and we will make sure that justice will be served,” he added. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
