BIR to Ong Kin King: Produce machines, records

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) 13 has asked Ong Kin King and Co. Inc. to produce its cash register machines and inventory records to allow the agency to determine how much it owes the government in taxes.

Following the closure of the corporation’s five warehouses and three restaurants last Tuesday, BIR 13 sent a letter yesterday requesting the owners to account for seven point of sales (POS) or cash register machines that are missing.

BIR 13 Director Eduardo Pagulayan said that based on their records, Ong Kin King and Co. Inc. has 57 POS machines that have permits but only 50 machines were accounted for.

“Seven are missing. We counted 54 POS that were sealed, which means there are four that are unregistered,” said Pagulayan.

Pagulayan also requested the owners to submit to BIR its service contract management with the supplier of its POS software and hardware. (KOC)
