Capitol schedules bidding of ambulance worth P3M each

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through the General Services Office is set to hold a bidding for the acquisition of three units of ambulance pegged at P3 million each.

Leo Eusebio, head of Hospital Operations Department, said these ambulances are compliant with the standards of the Department of Health (DOH).

He added the ambulance's license is separate from the hospital’s license and was also approved by the DOH.

The ambulance, Eusebio said, is equipped with medical kits and facilities.

The bidding for the first batch of three units of ambulances is set at the end of this month, he added.

Once approved by the DOH and the acquisition will be made, eight more units will be acquired by the province for the district hospitals run and operated by the province.

He also stressed that once the bidding is complete, that would be the time that the allocation for the purchase would be determined for the ambulances.

The first three ambulances will be released to the hospitals that need it the most as the succeeding units will also be distributed to other hospitals.

There are 11 hospitals run and operated by the provincial government.

In a related development, Venchito Magalona, head of the Capitol security, said the security guards detailed at the different hospitals in the province are undergoing enhancement training for prompt service.

"The heads of hospitals are requesting the training for security guards as they are the first persons who face and directs the patients upon arrival at the hospitals," he said.

Soon, he said, that the hospitals will also have a closed-circuit television so Eusebio required the guards to be trained of prompt service.

Security guards assigned at the Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao Hospital in Himamaylan City and Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital were the first ones who attended the training, Magalona said.
