THE Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) chess wizards will clash anew for the Cepca Monthly Qualifying Tournament July Edition in the J Centre Mall in Mandaue City today.
At stake in the tournament, which will use a 5-Round Swiss System, is one slot for the Cepca Grand Finals in December and the P1,500 cash prize for the monthly champion.
The second to fifth placers will not go home empty-handed as they will receive P1,000, P700, P500 and P300, respectively.
The winner for July will join the previous qualifiers in the Grand Finals, namely: Eduard dela Torre, Mario Bustillo, Rogelio Enriquez Jr., Joselito Loquez, and Zilberstein Torres.
The Cepca Monthly Qualifying Tournament will start at 2:30 p.m. after the Cepca Chess Age-Group Tournament. (RSC)
