A 36-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Sunday evening, July 22, in Barangay Liki, Balamban, Cebu.

Senior Inspector Deni Mari Pedrozo, the town police chief, identified the fatality as Allan Alferez Aroba, a resident of Barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City, Cebu.

Aroba succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and other parts of his body.

The victim was first seen by a woman, who was on her way home around 10 p.m.

A team of police officers led by Senior Police Officer 3 Benedicto A. Bobilles Jr. went to Liki after receiving a phone call from a village official.

The investigators found the victim lying on the ground. His motorcycle was near his body and its engine was still functioning.

Bobilles theorized the assailants waited for Aroba to pass by them before shooting him.

Police recovered two empty shells of .45 pistol, three bullets of .45 pistol and a deformed fired bullet.

The victim's black wallet with identification cards and a cellular phone were also found in the victim's possession. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
