THE Barangay League in Bacolod City will hold a general membership meeting on Monday, July 23, at the Government Center.
Joy Maredith Madayag, director of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Bacolod, said Sunday, July 22, that she already signed the notice of general membership meeting requested by Councilor Noli Villarosa, League president.
She said the members of the League, which composed of 61 barangay captains, will create various committees in preparation for the Barangay League election on July 30.
She added that Villarosa also issued notices to all the barangay captains to hold the Barangay League election at GT Hotel.
The members of the Barangay League will elect their president, vice president, auditor and board of directors with the presence of DILG.
Four village chiefs had earlier confirmed they are planning to run for League president.
They are Villarosa, Jose Maria Leandro Norberto de Leon of Barangay Vista Alegre, Rosinie Distrito of Barangay Singcang-Airport, and Anthony Ayco of Barangay 15.
De Leon, Distrito and Ayco, all members of Grupo Progreso, had earlier said they will wait for the decision of GP which was led by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran.
