City speeds up construction of lying-in center

MAYOR Evelio Leonardia ordered Tuesday for the immediate transfer of some offices left at the City Health Office compound for the construction of the lying-in and birthing home facility.

Leonardia ordered the City Engineer’s Office to facilitate transfer of the printing office, the satellite office of the Public Employment Service Office, and a Day Care Center.

These equipments will be transferred to the opposite side of the compound to give way for the construction of the center.

The compound also used to house the Bacolod Housing Authority and the Civil Registrar’s Office, which are now located at the New Government Center.

The mayor hopes that the construction will be finished before the ban on government projects imposed by the Commission on Election (Comelec).
