Sinenovela presents 'Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?'

THE mother-daughter tandem of Jean and Jennica Garcia will redefine love, commitment and sacrifice in Gilda Olividado's “Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita?"

“Ina, Kasusuklaman Ba Kita,” GMA-7’s opening salvo of Sinenovela for 2010, is a story of a mother struggling to do the right thing for her children.

Jean will play the part of Alvina, a strong-willed and ambitious mother to Rizzi, played by Jennica, Rav (Dion Ignacio) and Rossan (Iwa Moto) in three different men.

Despite this unconventional set-up, Alvina will work hard and

only has the best interest at heart for her family.

Among her three kids, Rizzi, who is Alvina's closest daughter, grew up without a father until she met Daniel Bustamante, played by Ariel Rivera, who claimed to be her father.

With Alvina's materialistic nature, she declined Daniel's capacity as a father because of his financial instability. Rizzi, on the other hand will try to break free from her manipulative mother and will think of ways to be with Daniel.

With Daniel's desperate need to prove himself to Alvina, he will then venture into business, which in the long run will be another disappointment on his part. Alvina will then get her daughter back only by convincing Rizzi that Daniel abandoned them.

Things became worst after Daniel left them. Alvina will never have the same closeness with Rizzi while Rossan's rich politician father turns his back from her and Rav's mental condition is worsening.

Alvina couldn't help but blame herself from all the misfortunes and hardship they need to face as a family, and in the long run will think that she is a disappointment when it comes to motherhood.

She will then struggle to keep her family intact and find enough faith and courage to forgive not only the people around her, but most especially herself for all the wrong decision she made.

Real life worries

During the press conference of the newest Sinenovela, Jean admittedly said that this is the first time that she's really very nervous in doing a soap opera because she's sharing the screen with daughter Jennica.

"Ang hirap kasi dalawa iniisip ko, yung acting ko and anak ko, so hindi lang acting 'yong iniisip mo. Iniisip ko din kung paano ko siya susuportahan (It is very hard because I am not only thinking of my acting but also the support I need to give my daughter in this project)," Jean said.

She then added that she never ever step-in in Jennica's acting career even in this project.

She shared there were times that she thought that there's another way of interpreting the lines but she kept her silence and let Jennica do her own thing.

In a separate interview, Jennica said that at first she was always thinking on how to please everyone, especially with her acting but in the long run she just let her natural self do everything.

She also said that her mother never tried to intercept what she was doing.

"Hindi nya ako pinapakialaman, tapos pag nahihirapan ako eh sasabihin lang nyan, anak kaya mo yan (She never tried to meddle even if I am having a hard time, she will just tell me that I can do it)," Jennica said.

She added that she's very thankful to GMA Network for giving her opportunity to work with her mother in one big project.

Also included in the casts are Lloyd Samartino, Luis Alandy, Karla Estrada, Richard Quan, Regine Tolentino, LJ Reyes, and Paulo Avelino.

This Sinenovela latest installment is directed by Gil Tejada while its theme song is composed by world-renowned violinist Alfonso "Coke" Bolipata.

"Ina, Kamumuhian Ba Kita" begins this January 25, Monday, after "Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit" on GMA Dramarama sa Hapon. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
