THE Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Davao is calling for nominations for the 2018 Leaders and Achievers of Davao (LeaDavao), a search for this year’s distinguished leaders in the city.
“We are very much happy to announce that on this fourth consecutive year we are opening again this award-giving body,” chairperson LeaDavao Louel Zambrano said last Friday July 20, 2018 at the launching exhibit in Abreeza mall.
Zambrano said that the award is given to individuals who have exemplary contribution in leadership and service in their very own sectors.
Last year, seven nominations were gathered by JCI and three were awarded LeaDavao. Banker Alex Buenaventura, educator Perla Kwan, and accountant Protacio Tacandong were 2017’s LeaDavao honorees.
Zambrano invited every Dabawenyo who knows an exemplery leader in the city, to nominate for this year’s search.
The nomination is open to any Dabawenyo who must have reached the age of 40 on or before September 15, 2018.
The nominee must be a resident of Davao City at the time of filing.
The nominee must be engaged in his or her field of endeavor and have an impact to Davao City.
Nominees must not be former LeaDavao awardees and must be endorsed by a credible organization.
The criteria for screening of the candidates include Character, Integrity, and Moral Values which constitutes 40%; Leadership and embodying the “Leadership Tennets” of JCI constitues 30& and another 30% for the candidate’s contribution and impact to his or her community.
Aspiring LeaDavao awardees must also pass a bid book which includes personal, leadership, and community contribution profiles which must be filled out.
To raise more awareness of the event, JCI also launched their first infographic gallery.
In the gallery are the hall of famers of LeaDavao award.
Notable awardees are Margarita Moran-Florentino for the environment sector, Jose Iñigo “Joey” Ayala for music, and Joji Ilagan-Bian for education.
The deadline of the submission will be on October 10, 2018.
