Lubao mayor not closing doors to politics

THREE-TERM Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab on Monday said that she is not closing the possibility of an elective post in 2019 stressing that she will go with the clamor of local constituents and the people in local politics.

“Right now, I have not given it any thought but I think I would just go with the flow,” Pineda-Cayabyab told SunStar Pampanga.

Pineda-Cayabyab said that she is devoting most of her time to make the remaining months in office more meaningful for her constituents.

She has successfully ushered developments for Lubao town during her previous terms. Her leadership had managed to place Lubao town in the tourism map with the Lubao Hot Air Balloon Festival.

The town's Bamboo Farm is also a focus of local tourism as well as development programs for agriculture and fisheries. Pineda-Cayabyab has also initiated the move for the construction of a campus for Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University here and the construction of a new government building for the town.

Pineda-Cayabyab has been rumored to run for a different municipal post, but the mayor said that she has no clear plans yet. She added that her attention is still on serving her constituents for the remainder of her months in office.
